About Me

I work with both adults and young people at The West Street Counselling Centre, offering a safe, supportive space to explore life’s challenges and emotional difficulties. I also work as a Young Person’s Counsellor at Eastleigh Youth Counselling Service, where I support young people in navigating issues such as anxiety, relationships, self-esteem, and identity.

Alongside my counselling work, I am a Social Prescriber within the NHS. This role allows me to connect individuals with community resources and wellbeing support, helping to promote a more holistic sense of health and connection.

These varied roles give me a deep and genuine understanding of the many challenges people face at different stages of life. This experience shapes my compassionate, person-centred approach and helps me offer support that meets each individual’s unique needs.

My Background

While training, I volunteered with Fareham & CEMAST College and Off The Record, supporting young people and adults. These placements offered me a rich and rewarding foundation in counselling work.

Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in within Mental Health supporting neurodivergent people to navigate everyday life, build confidence, and understand themselves on a deeper level. Together, we explored their personality, emotions, and strengths, while creating practical strategies to make daily routines and challenges easier to manage. The goal was to enable people to live authentically with greater independence.

After this, I worked in education for many years as an ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) and an Assistant SENDCo, supporting children and their parents develop stratergies to enable them to achieve their potential . These experiences offered a valuable perspective on the challenges they face as they navigate a system that isn't always suited to the needs of today's world.
